Triumph at Music Competitions: Outstanding Performance by Ic Picentia’s Secondary School Students

The music-oriented Secondary School students of Ic Picentia have achieved remarkable success in various prestigious music competitions, showcasing their incredible talent and musical prowess. These esteemed contests included the IV International Competition in Baronissi, the IV “A. Vivaldi” International Competition in Sapri, and the “Francesco Cardaropoli” International Music Competition in Bracigliano, revered as the “City of Music.”

Exceptional Talent and Technical Skills

The students, under the exemplary guidance of their teachers Luisiana De Chiara, Vincenzo Ronca, and Maurizio Marotta, impressed with their technical and interpretative musical skills. Their performances were not only captivating but awarded with two scholarships provided by the juries at Sapri and Bracigliano competitions.

Rewards for Musical Excellence

Ginevra de Majo, the institution’s principal, expressed immense pride in the instrumental section, patronized by over 70 students. The cash prizes awarded by the juries are a testament to the exceptional efforts of both the students and their instructors. De Majo highlighted their level of execution, comparing it favorably with that of a higher-education music conservatory.

Outstanding Individual and Group Performances

Solo pianists Annapia Ferrazzano, Angela Cianciulli, Maya Finizio, and Gaia Caropreso all achieved an incredible score of 100/100. Similarly, solo saxophonists Angelica Elia, Giorgia Pizza, and Miriam Troisi, as well as the sax quartet composed of Miriam Troisi, Giorgia Pizza, Carlo Galdi, and Alberto D’amato, and the sax ensemble with members Gennaro Nappi, Nicholas Esposito, Maria Ludovica Iacullo, among others, garnered top awards.

Special Scholarships

Additional scholarships were conferred, one of which was a special acknowledgment not listed in the contest regulations, awarded for their impressive musical and technical abilities. Another was bestowed upon the saxophone ensemble by the “Francesco Cardaropoli” International Music Competition.

Celebrating a Myriad of High Scores

Significant scores ranging from 95 to 99 were also awarded to solo pianists like Miriana Sica and Emanuele Pagano, solo saxophonists including Maria Ludovica Iacullo and Carlo Galdi, as well as guitar ensembles from various classes.

Acclaim for Educators

The jury unanimously praised the educators De Chiara, Ronca, and Marotta for their meticulous and attentive teaching strategies that contribute to the refined musical performances of the students. Their commitment and pedagogical approach were highly commended, signaling the rich and fruitful music education provided at Ic Picentia.
